Hiking and Gourmet Tour Experience
The Places You’ll Go!
Take 15 kilometres along the river Cetina towards Truše village; stop for a breathtaking view over the Cetina canyon where the river runs into the sea; visit old villages Tugare and Truše, go to the starting point of the hiking tour, and reach the mountain peak Stomorica.
The tour takes you to interesting ancient village of Tugare – Truše. After a walk through the gorgeous woods, and reaching the mountain peak, you will be overwhelmed with the fascinating panoramic view over the sea and the islands. We hike up to the peak called Stomorica, which is about 400 meters above the sea level.
Mountain top
At the top of Stomorica, there is a little church named Our Lady of Snow, that got its name after a sudden snow on August 5. The miracle was witnessed by the locals, who kept telling the stories of the midsummer’s snow on the mountain top.
The tour passes by the old Croatian tombstones, in the mountains, dated back in the 9th century.
We will make you lose the sense of time and space, by telling you stories about the history and the tradition. By having a walk among the old stone block houses, in villages, typical for ancient Dalmatian architecture, we will make you feel and live the tradition.
Dalmatian Tavern
Our famous chef will host you in his house in Truše, in a beautiful authentic tavern where you will enjoy your time by the open fireplace, the famous ‘komin’ – the most important place for any household in rural Dalmatia. You can poke the fire and help chef in preparing a dinner, taste few sorts of domestic wine and oil, enjoy in homemade smoked ham, bacon, cheese and a famous dish called ‘soparnik ’ which is officially recognised as the ‘Croatian brand’. We are proud to say that it originates from the Poljica region.
